We wish to reach more people in the region since it is a difficult region, with lots of idolatry, secularism, and people who are not committed to God but rather to materialism and sex. There are many people who live below the poverty line and we often feel very limited and powerless in our engagement with them, especially now that there is a lack of water given the lack of rains. We really need spiritual support. We have a project called Vida Boa no Sertão Esperança e Pão (Abundant Life in the Sertão: Hope and Bread) in partnership with Tearfund, and this has been exceptionally helpful.
