Partner: PROGRAMME DE PROMOTION DES SOINS DE SANTE PRIMAIRES (PPSSP) (PRIMARY HEALTH CARE PROMOTION PROGRAMME)
Place: Beni, R.D. Congo

The programme works with the aim of contributing to the improvement of people’s quality of life through the promotion of good practices in public health and through minimising the impact of traumas caused by conflict, war, sexual assault and HIV and AIDS.

It works with and for vulnerable and deprived people through churches and the other structures in society, for health promotion and capacity building among grassroots communities. The fight against malaria, HIV AIDS and diarrhoeal diseases and the promotion of maternal and child health are its key areas of intervention.

We would ask for prayer for this programme, the churches and the eastern region of the DR Congo in general, for a lasting peace in the country. Wars, human rights violations and insecurity are essential ingredients that lead to poverty. We will not be able to fight against poverty in the DRC if we do not stop the wars, the violence and the insecurity.

Let’s pray for the Congolese authorities that God gives them the wisdom and intelligence to think also of the happiness of the people in setting up transparent systems of management (good governance).

Let’s pray that the churches would be a useful tool in advocating for peace and the fight against poverty in the DRC, and that they would not be compromised in the pursuit of their missions to spread the gospel.

We are Christians passionate about the local church bringing justice and transforming lives - overcoming global poverty.
So our ten-year vision is to see 50 million people released from material and spiritual poverty through a worldwide network of 100,000 local churches.
