ICAN was instigated in 1988 as a response to the needs of drug users and their families. The project provides residential rehabilitation services and does prevention work in low income communities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. The Prevention Activities in these communities are done innovatively through the medium of street dramas, youth groups, bible schools and awareness raising seminars. In response to the growing concern about the rapid spread of HIV/AIDS in both low and high prevalence countries, ICAN has scaled up HIV/AIDS into all its rehabilitation and prevention activities, keeping in view that drug users particularly IDU’s ( intravenous drug users) are a high risk group for contracting the HIV virus.

- ICAN has developed a Church Leaders network for the prevention of spread of HIV/AIDS; please pray for its growth and enrichment.
- Pray that more and more church leaders realize the importance of awareness to prevent the spread of HIV as turn over in the awareness raising seminars is very low.
- Pray for the recovering drug misusers in our drug rehabilitation centre.
- Pray that we develop more partnerships with the Government organizations
- Pray for that we get sufficient funds to build the new ICAN Building.
