Location: rural areas of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
ACAT works with very poor and vulnerable families in rural KwaZulu-Natal. We help them form into Groups consisting of 5 people who live nearby to each other. These groups (G5) become the hub or network through which we train them to improve food production (firstly through home vegetable gardens), income generation (through basic business training and micro-loans) and literacy / numeracy. We also mainstream spiritual issues (like what causes poverty and what is in their power to change), HIV and AIDS (what it is, how to avoid it, how to live with it, and care for others), and capacity building skills.
We need prayer for our team – from decision makers to implementers who can get very discouraged by poverty.
Pray that the Lord would continue to use ACAT to bring new people into His Kingdom.
